structural geology, Bradshaw Mountains

March 2013 | Southern Bradshaw Mountains | Yavapai County, Arizona
A rare exposure of the unconformity between weathered and oxidized Paleoproterozoic granodiorite and overlying Miocene sedimentary breccia - crossing this photo from the hammer head to beyond the right edge, parallel to the hammer head.  The boulder-cobble breccia is composed of subangular granitoid clasts and interstitial sandy, orange-red, arkosic matrix.
